MandOS Limited

MandOS was established in 1999 to develop software which made it easy to define a management system using a simple, process-based approach. It produces a concise yet very usable definition of how a business operates and is managed. It provides a practical tool for management which can also provide the basis for formal registration against a number of national and international standards whilst avoiding the need for separate systems for each.

The system has been built on experience gained in a diverse range of business sectors including the oil industry, engineering, the UK national health service, technical and software service provision, professional services, consultancy, training provision and local government. The approach has been used successfully in all these areas, in some cases with funding from the Scottish Office and the Local Enterprise network.

Like the Business Excellence Model (EFQM), the Year 2000 revision to the quality standard ISO9001 places greater importance on the management of the business rather than on quality as an isolated concept and requires that an organisation's processes are defined and managed. The MandOS approach is an ideal way to achieve this, and has been endorsed by public sector bodies, commercial organisations and certifying bodies.
